You Don't Need to Be a Millionaire to Get an E2 Visa

Do you think the U.S. only grants awesome investor visas to foreigners who invest a million dollars or more?

Not true.

An E-2 Visa requires only that you make a "substantial investment in a U.S. business or franchise
that is likely to be successful. It can be almost any business.

In practice, that tends to mean an investment of $100,000 or more, in part because smaller investments suggest that you're not fully committed to making it work in the long-term.

I know $100,000 isn't chump change, but's it not a million dollars either, and it's a winning ticket to the American dream for many.

The E-2 investor visa is only available to nationals of about 80 "treaty" countries, including Canada, the UK, Germany, France, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Sweden, and Finland, for example.

Achieve Your American Dream Now with an E2 Visa

Are you a European or Canadian entrepreneur who's frustrated by leftwing governments that prioritize socialism, censorship, and open borders over your dreams?

Under President Trump's leadership, the U.S. is slashing red tape, crushing illegal immigration, reducing taxes, and empowering entrepreneurs, creating a haven for bold innovators like you.

Seize this opportunity now to build your future in America with an E2 visa.

An E2 visa allows you to:

• Live and work legally in the U.S., building your own business in a country doubling down on freedom and innovation.

• Bring your family.

Your spouse can work in the U.S., and your unmarried children under 21 can attend school here. And

• Stay long-term.

E2 visas are issued for up to 5 years (depending on your treaty country) and can be renewed indefinitely as your business grows.

To qualify, you must be a citizen of one of about 80 countries-including Canada, the UK, France, Italy, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Poland, for example-and invest a "substantial" amount-typically at least $100,000 —in a U.S. startup, franchise, or existing business in which you own at least 50%.

I'm Joseph Bovino, U.S. immigration and business attorney based in Miami, serving clients worldwide, and specializing in E2 visas.

Top 7 Countries Whose Citizens Applied for a E2 Investor Visa in FY 2024

Here are the top 7 countries whose citizens are applying for an E2 investor visa, which allows foreign entrepreneurs to enter the United States for the purpose of directing and developing a new U.S. business in which they've made a substantial investment:

7. Great Britain and Northern Ireland

6. Taiwan

5. France

There was a 26% increase in the number of E2 investor visa applications by French citizens in the 2024 fiscal year.

One factor that likely contributed to this was an extension of the initial term of an E2 visa for French citizens to 48 months:

4. Germany

3. Canada

There was a 9% increase in E2 investor visa applications by Canadians in the 2024 fiscal year, and I expect that number to jump dramatically going forward for economic and political reasons.

And #1 by far

The Dignity Act of 2025 Is RINO Trash and Going Nowhere

A new immigration bill called The Dignity Act of 2025 includes a seven-year initiative offering illegal aliens who have resided in the U.S. since before 2021 renewable legal status, work authorization, and protection from deportation.

It's an amnesty bill, and it has absolutely no chance of becoming law because President Trump will never sign it, and because the American people voted for and continue to support mass deportations after 4 years of destructive open-borders policies from Joe Biden and the Democrats.

The Dignity Act was introduced by Representative Maria Elvira Salazar (a very squishy Republican from Florida), who is all over the media speaking in English and Spanish about how wonderful it is and how it's really not "amnesty."

That's a whopper, but it didn't stop 10 other RINOs in the U.S. House of Representatives-including Florida Rep.Mario Diaz-Balart-from co-sponsoring the bill.

Once The Dignity Act clown show is over, I urge the to find and endorse more conservative candidates to replace Ms. Salazar and Mr. Diaz-Balart in the next Republican primaries.

They need to go, as do the other 9 Republicans from other states who co-sponsored this trash.

2 of the Best Types of E2 Visa Businesses

You can get an E2 visa by investing in almost any type of U.S. business, but here are two of the best ones to consider:

1. The U.S. Version of Your Foreign Business

If you're an entrepreneur who's run a successful business abroad, why not leverage your experience and expertise to do it in the United States?

Just establish a new company in Florida or another U.S. state and invest in that.

2. A Franchise

Franchises are turnkey business opportunities. It doesn't get much easier than that. You just need to find one that's right for you.

Keep in mind that, regardless of whether you decide to invest in a U.S. startup or a franchise, you must be from one of about 80 E2 "treaty" countries-including Canada, the UK, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Poland, and many more-in order to be eligible for an E2 visa.

You must have a business that's open or ready to open before you submit your application.

And you must have invested a "substantial" amount - typically at least $100,000 - in your U.S. business.

ICE Arrests MS-13 Kingpin

Breaking News-ICE has arrested an MS-13 kingpin in Omaha, Nebraska, who is wanted for five aggravated murders in El Salvador and is on the country's most wanted fugitives list.

ICE also arrested an MS-13 associate he was living with, 30-year-old Rene Saul Escobar Ochoa, who is also wanted in El Salvador for allegedly giving orders to fellow gang members to commit multiple murders.

Both men are illegal aliens who had embedded themselves in the Omaha area.

And both are probably on their way to CECOT in El Salvador soon to join the other illegal alien monsters we're sending there.

This is what Americans, myself included, voted for, and we won't be satisfied until every illegal alien criminal who came in under Biden and the open-border Democrats is sent home.

And that's just for starters.

U.S. Citizen Born in Mexico Charged with Naturalization Fraud for S*x Crimes

Breaking News—Anibal Rio Lavias, 30, a U.S. citizen born in Mexico, has been indicted for naturalization fraud because he lied about his sexual crimes against children while applying for U.S. citizenship.

Lavias became a naturalized U.S. citizen on May 4, 2018.

But during the naturalization process with USCIS, he failed to disclose his sexual offenses between February 2018 and February 2023, or that the victim was only 5 years old when the abuse began.

USCIS was unaware of Lavias' crimes before granting him citizenship because he was not arrested until after he naturalized.

However, on March 19, 2024, Lavias pleaded guilty to these crimes and was sentenced to between 300 and 420 months in jail.

Moreover, now that USCIS knows all about this guy and his crimes, Lavias faces up to 20 years in prison and revocation of his U.S. citizenship.

I'm Joseph Bovino, U.S. immigration and business attorney based in Miami and serving clients worldwide.

I fully support revoking the U.S. citizenship of criminals and fraudsters like this and hope to see a lot more of it in the coming years, but let me know what you think in the comments below.

Arguably the best visa for most foreign entrepreneurs with an American Dream—and Americans—is the E2 investor visa.

The E2 visa allows foreign entrepreneurs from approximately 80 “treaty” countries to enter the United States by making a substantial investment — typically at least $100,000 — in a startup enterprise or buying at least 50% of a franchise or an existing business, and then staying in the country to direct and develop its operations.

This inevitably leads to economic growth, innovation, and job creation in the United States.

Meanwhile, foreign entrepreneurs receive a nonimmigrant visa of up to 5 years that can be renewed indefinitely as long as their U.S. business continues to operate successfully.

Citizens of India, China, and Russia are ineligible to apply, by the way, unless they have dual citizenship with an E2 treaty country.
