Is your body camera 🎥 on safe task force ????
🚨 Attention Paul Young Mayor Paul Young and the Memphis Police Department!🚨

What happened recently is beyond unacceptable. A 17-year-old girl was subjected to an inappropriate search by one of your officers, who clearly overstepped his boundaries. This is not just alarming; it's a **breach of trust** and a violation of basic safety protocols!

🔹 Why was a male officer allowed to frisk a young girl? This raises serious concerns about training and oversight in our police department.

🔹 Are there policies in place to prevent male officers from searching females, especially minors? If not, this is a major oversight that needs urgent attention!

🔹 Will there be an internal investigation? The community deserves to know that actions will be taken against misconduct.

🔹 We cannot allow this behavior to continue! The safety of our citizens, especially our youth, must be a top priority.

Failure to act will lead to lawsuits and further trauma for victims juveniles. We demand immediate answers and action!

What to know about the murder trial of a sheriff deputy who killed Sonya Massey

Today marks the start of the murder trial of former deputy Sean Grayson, who is charged with the fatal shooting of Sonya Massey—an unarmed woman who called 911 for a reported prowler in her home. Among the most disturbing aspects: his prior employment at six different law‑enforcement roles over a few years and documented red flags that raise serious questions about how he was cleared for this job.

In response, Governor J.B. Pritzker just signed a new law a few months ago— colloquially called the “Sonya Massey Bill” — requiring law‑enforcement agencies to thoroughly investigate candidates’ background records, including employment history, disciplinary actions, military and driving records, and to share that info between agencies.

Because the truth is: when someone dials 911 for help, they should be able to trust that the person who shows up is truly qualified and committed to protect. We shouldn't need a tragedy to remind us of that.
