My identity has changed a number of times over the decades. I started out as a photographer, then a small contractor, then an at-home dad, then (and still) a real-estate agent, and now also a camera collector, mini-rehabber and reseller.

Once in a while, somebody gives me an exquisite gift …. hence this battle-worn beast!

65 years ago in the bowels (uterus? no, bowels) of an East German camera engineering shop, weeks of arguments gave birth to the Pentacon Six ….

“Let’s make it huge…..double the size of other cameras .”
“Let’s make it really heavy. Like a boat anchor.”
“Let’s make it like a weapon.”
“Let’s make it ugly.”
“It will carry a lens named TELE-MEGOR …. cousin of Rodan, the flying reptile.”

Hello old-timers, my little shop has been asked to digitize the contents of old 8-track tapes. Inremember my first 8-track cartridge player in 1969 when I was in high school!

I have several used players that “should work” to create recordings, however …. I need to test them on “donor“ tapes, rather than on somebody else’s treasures!

Do you have any old cartridges laying around?

Message me if you want to subject them to scientific experimentation 🤣😉🤓

It's about LOVE. I'm finishing digital conversions of 15 videotapes. My customer recorded their wedding, birthdays, babies, Christmas, sports, vacations . . . and she said, "I'll spend the winter days with my shades drawn and lots of Kleenex. I can't wait!"

20-plus hours of memories are now in a simple USB flash drive.

BTW, the photobomber back there is a 24 X 36 canvas print, yep I do that too. That's all about love, too.
