Hi everyone!!! We're collecting non-perishable food items at our office through the month of December! In Kentucky alone, 282,771 households receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. The upcoming House budget plan includes the largest funding cut to federal food assistance in the history of SNAP, shifting the burden of funding the program onto the States. These budget changes put roughly 600,000 Kentuckians at risk of losing SNAP benefits and experiencing food insecurity. We hope that with this food drive, we can at least offset that loss by helping members of our community. Every human deserves the right to eat, and no one should have to worry about when they'll have their next meal. We plan on dropping off donations to CHFS, as we are particularly concerned for our foster families that rely on SNAP benefits to feed their foster kiddos. Please feel free to share this post and spread the word.
