The Los Angeles Incubator Consortium (LAIC) is a community of solo lawyers who are developing sustainable law practices in underserved communities to increase access to law and justice. LAIC is a collaboration between Los Angeles area law schools, legal services organizations and the Los Angeles Law Library. The program was established as a pilot program in January 2015 through a grant from the St

ate Bar of California's Commission on Access to Justice. During this time, they receive mentoring and training on substantive areas of law, ethical law practice management and business development. A requirement for program participation is contribution of 100 hours of pro bono work (including the training required to prepare them for such work). Pro bono opportunities are provided by Bet Tzedek, Community Legal Aid So Cal, Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law, Los Angeles Law Library, Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, Neighborhood Legal Services and Public Counsel.
