Attorney Positions Available: $75,000 to $190,000 DOQ.

Four positions available to be the second attorney staffing a courtroom in the downtown LA Mosk Courthouse. The two attorneys cover one courtroom, handling all cases assigned to that courtroom.

Two positions available to supervise the office including drafting and reviewing Answers to the complaints and preparing cases for negotiation.

One position available to do research and write briefs. (Part-time/Full-time/Remote/WFH or Hybrid).

Two trial attorney positions.

Housing insecurity is the single most pressing issue facing Angelinos today. Be a part of the solution. The EDN Tenant Empowerment Program (TEP) is closing the access to justice gap for the 47,000 families facing eviction, displacement and extreme instability in LA County in 2024. We are teaching litigants to prepare their cases for trial and stepping in to handle the trials. We are recruiting successful TEP students to join our staff including our Tenant Advocate Pipeline program to license attorneys through the State Bar apprentice program. 47,625 families in Los Angeles County faced possible homelessness due to eviction last year.

The Eviction Defense Network was able to help 1634 of them through our Tenant Empowerment Program.

Tenants facing eviction should:
1. Go to StayhousedLA.org and apply for services. If you are in a priority zip code you will be assigned an agency that in theory should represent you. Many are at capacity. If you are not in a priority zip code you will be referred to the Eviction Defense Network Tenant Empowerment Program.

2. Whether you are assigned an agency or not, come to edn.la/videos and watch our videos. Then come to edn.la/webinars and join out Tenant Empowerment Program. We are teaching tenants how to represent themselves with a 99% success rate. While not a guarantee, that statistic speaks volume to our experience and commitment.

Our Tenant Empowerment Program is seeing a 99% success rate for tenants facing eviction. We are favorably resolving an average of 2.5 cases a day including Shelby who yesterday won her case by successfully arguing a motion that our attorney Simon Sherred wrote for her and Yvonne who on Friday was sent out to start a trial in front of one of the judges we considered biased against tenants; I stepped in and by Tuesday had won her case.
