Eric brings strong experience in civil defense litigation, including construction claims and civil rights matters, and has also advised health care professionals on contract negotiations and related business issues. New from Thomas Rutledge - Kentucky Court of Appeals Squarely Holds Veil Piercing is Applicable to LLCs, Repeatedly Citing SKO Attorney Thomas E. Rutledge: “Piercing the veil” is a long accepted principle of corporate law pursuant to which, in extraordinary circumstances, the rule of shareholder limited liability may be set aside and a shareholder held personally liable for an obligation of the corporation. Wiseman - DOJ Working to Reclassify Ma*****na Under the Federal Controlled Substances Act, Reducing Uncertainty Related to Participation in State-Regulated Medical and Recreational Ma*****na Businesses: On April 23, the Department of Justice announced that it had issued a Final Order reclassifying any ma*****na products that are approved by the federal Food and Drug Administration or which are regulated by state medical ma*****na laws from Schedule I (i.e., substances with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse) to Schedule III (substances with a moderate to low potential for physical and psychological dependence) under the authority of the federal Controlled Substances Act.
