Swipe for a tweet thread that changed the way I look at the way I live my life.
-
Iâve spent years of my life being relentless in âworkâ, and having the opportunity to take a step back gave me the answer to why I felt like I wasnât going anywhere.
-
The grade school friends I cherish - Iâve already spent 99% of the time Iâll ever spend with them for the rest of my life.
-
Another tough pill to swallow: Iâve already spent 90% of the time Iâll ever be able to spend with my parents.
-
So why bring this up?
-
What I do on a day to day - work, entertainment, fulfilling goals and ambitions, taking care of myself - itâs all a game of trade-offs.
-
Itâs easy to get caught up in, but I really needed to check myself.
-
When I started looking at spending time with others as âthis is one of the last 30 times youâll see this person for the rest of your lifeââŚ
-
Suddenly I wasnât âtoo busyâ to see or call the people I care about. I became more present with those around me.
-
So if youâve been in my shoes - in a slump, dealing with issues, putting a shell up - just know that problems are a luxury for the living.
-
Problems tell you that youâre alive.
-
When you spend your time make sure it counts. Life is too short for anything less.
