USCIS Expands Screening for ‘Anti-Americanism’
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will begin screening applicants for signs of “anti-Americanism” and antisemitic activity. The policy applies to all cases, including green cards, work visas, and citizenship, but offers no clear definition of what counts as anti-American.

How To Register with USCIS Under the New Immigrant Registration Rule

A new immigration rule from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is now in effect. As of April 11, certain people living in the U.S. are required to register with the federal government — even if they’ve been in the country for years.

What the Registration Process Looks Like

You’ll need to complete the registration process through a free USCIS online account. Here’s how it works:

Create a USCIS Account
Go to my.uscis.gov and create an individual account.
Each person registering — including children — must have their own account. Parents or legal guardians should create and manage accounts for minors under 14.

Fill Out Form G-325R (Biographic Information)
Once logged in, you’ll complete an online form called G-325R.

This form asks for basic personal and background information, including:
Full name, date of birth, and country of birth
Current and past U.S. addresses (for the last five years)
Immigration history and entry details
Family information (parents, spouse)
Employment history
Any past arrests or criminal charges

This form must be submitted online. You cannot mail it or complete it in person.

Attend a Biometrics Appointment (If Required)

USCIS may schedule you for a biometrics appointment at a local Application Support Center.

This is where they’ll take your fingerprints, photo, and signature.

Not everyone will be asked to attend — but if you are, you must go. Missing a scheduled appointment can result in penalties.

Download Your Proof of Registration
Once your registration is complete (and biometrics submitted, if required), USCIS will upload proof of registration to your online account.
If you’re 18 or older, you must carry this document with you at all times.

Do I Need to Register?

Not everyone needs to register — but if you’ve never had formal contact with immigration authorities, this new rule might apply to you.

You may need to register if:

You entered the U.S. without a visa or inspection
You came in through a land border (especially from Canada) and weren’t given any official paperwork
You’re here under Temporary Protected Status (TPS), DACA, or Deferred Action, but never received a visa or Form I-94
You’ve never been fingerprinted or issued official immigration documents
You’re in removal proceedings but were never formally registered
You recently turned 14 and haven’t registered before
You have a child under 14 who’s been in the U.S. for more than 30 days and hasn’t been registered

If you’ve applied for a green card or have a visa, a work permit (EAD), or a travel record (Form I-94), you’re likely already registered.

Not sure? It’s a good idea to log into your USCIS account or speak with an immigration attorney or legal representative to confirm.

What if I Don’t Register?

Skipping the registration process might seem like a small thing — but it could have serious consequences down the line.

If you’re required to register and don’t:

You could be fined (up to $5,000)
You might face misdemeanor charges or short-term jail time
You could run into problems the next time you apply for an immigration benefit (like a work permit or green card)
You may be at greater risk if immigration enforcement actions increase in the future

The bottom line: Voluntary registration is the safest path forward.

If you’re not sure whether the new rule applies to you, it’s better to check now than to wait. You don’t have to go through it alone — legal help is available.
What About Children?

The registration requirement also applies to minors in some cases:

Children under 14 must be registered by a parent or guardian if they’ve been in the U.S. longer than 30 days.
Children who turn 14 must register within 30 days of their birthday — even if they were previously registered as minors.

🚨 Important Update from USCIS 🚨

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that antisemitic activity — including harassment of Jewish people and support for antisemitic terrorism on social media — will now be considered when reviewing immigration applications.

🔍 USCIS may flag or deny immigration benefits if applicants are found to promote or support antisemitic ideologies or terrorist organizations.

If you have questions about how this update might affect your case, we're here to help. 💬

A lot of people hear about the K-3 visa and think it allows a spouse of a U.S. citizen to enter the U.S. quickly and wait for their green card. But the truth is, K-3 visas are rarely used today. In almost every case, the I-130 (immigrant visa petition) is approved before the K-3 finishes processing, which makes the K-3 obsolete.

Despite what the descriptions say, you will not be allowed into the U.S. just to “wait” — you still have to remain in your home country until the full CR-1 visa is issued. The CR-1 path is now the standard and most reliable route for spouses. It grants a green card upon arrival, without the extra steps and delays of the K-3.

Sadly, many families are misled by outdated information, thinking there’s a shortcut that doesn’t actually exist anymore.

TODAY, President Donald Trump Rescinds Major Green Card Requirement!

Effective Jan. 22, 2025, USCIS is waiving any and all requirements that applicants for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident present documentation on their Form I-693, Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record, that they received the COVID-19 vaccination. USCIS will not issue any Request for Evidence or Notice of Intent to Deny related to proving a COVID-19 vaccination. USCIS will not deny any adjustment of status application based on the applicant’s failure to present documentation that they received the COVID-19 vaccination.

The USCIS has Mandated a US Medical Exam when submitting Green Card Applications.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has revised its policy regarding submitting Form I-693, “Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record.” You must now submit your medical examination results (Form I-693) at the same time as your green card application (Form I-485).

If you submit your green card application without the US medical exam results, the USCIS will reject it.

The U.S. Embassy in the Philippines to Launch a New Application Center and Appointment System. The opening date is September 28, 2024.

The U.S. Embassy in the Philippines announced it will open a new Visa Application Center (VAC) and launch a redesigned online appointment system on September 28. The embassy will also expand its call center services to provide additional support for U.S. citizens in the Philippines.

New Visa Application Center (VAC)

The new VAC will be located at Parqal Building 8, Level 3, Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard, Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City. Visa applicants will now be required to visit this facility to have their photos and fingerprints taken before their visa interviews. This extra step applies to all interview appointments scheduled on or after September 28. The U.S. Embassy on Roxas Boulevard will continue to conduct the interviews, but all biometric data will be collected at the new VAC.

The VAC will operate Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with additional Saturday hours from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. No appointments will be required for applicants dropping off interview waiver applications or picking up passports during regular weekday hours.

Redesigned Visa Appointment System

The embassy will also launch a new visa appointment system, accessible via ustraveldocs.com/ph. The embassy said in a statement, the updated system will make it easier to schedule appointments and manage visa applications.

Applicants with existing accounts will be required to log in using their registered email addresses. Their profiles, including payment receipts and scheduled appointments, will automatically transfer to the new system.

Anyone with a scheduled interview before September 28 will not need to visit the VAC and should proceed directly to the U.S. Embassy for their appointment as originally planned.

Judge Extends Pause on Biden’s Parole Program for Undocumented Families

A judge on Wednesday extended the temporary block on the implementation of the Biden administration’s “Keeping Families Together” policy, which aims to provide a path to citizenship for nearly half a million undocumented immigrants married to U.S. citizens.

Judge J. Campbell Barker of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas extended the temporary block on the policy until September 23 to allow for legal arguments and a potential hearing. Applicants can still apply for the program during this period.
