Attorney Todd Swift is pleased to introduce you to the newest law firm in Las Vegas, NV, specializing in Special Education law, Estate Planning, and Personal Injury.
Why these three seemingly unrelated areas of law? Well, it's due to the underlying relationship between them.
Special Education: Todd's middle child has Down syndrome, and he has been a staunch advocate for the global and local Down syndrome community, and for all disability rights, since before she was born. Being raised by a father who was a Clark County School District special education teacher, Todd received early childhood lessons on the importance of protecting the disabled and fighting for them to have dignified and independent lives, to the highest extent possible. The laws of our nation and the state of Nevada have come a long way, and as an attorney in this field, Todd will work to ensure that children who require an "Individualized Education Plan" will obtain the best education to which they are entitled, and that school districts abide by the law.
Estate Planning: With a finance and business background, and a growing and extensive native Nevadan family, Todd is passionate about protecting family assets at each generation and stage of life, and to protect surviving family's interests in the event of the death of a loved one. Also, in advocating for the disabled in education, Todd has learned that all families are or can be affected by disability at any time. Families with disabled loved ones may require specialized legal services, such as special needs trusts, powers of attorney, guardianships, or other legal vehicles to ensure the dignity and well being of loved ones living with disabilities.
Personal Injury: one of the most common causes of disability is personal injury due to the negligence or wrongdoing of others. Todd has seen this amongst his own family, friends, and clients. For the past 7 years, Todd has worked in the personal injury field, both on behalf of injured persons, as well as for Fortune 500 insurance companies, so he knows not only what injured people go through when suffering an injured, but also the tactics insurance companies use. Todd will utilize his expertise to seek a speedy and full recovery for his clients.
