This is how many traumatic brain injuries can show up. Not always at the scene. Sometimes hours or days later.

A clean CT scan at the ER does not rule out a concussion. CT scans are mainly used to look for serious structural injuries, like bleeding or skull fractures. Many concussions do not show up on standard imaging.

Fault is a key part of an injury case, and it's almost never black and white. Usually, the person making a claim has to prove the other person was at fault. Sometimes, the person making the claim has to prove they were not at fault themselves.

Disputing fault is an easy out for insurance companies to avoid fairly paying claims. When that happens, you need a team prepared to argue those gray areas. And at Inzina Law, that's exactly what we do.

We'll never forget the time we were in an Uber and saw this sweet note from our Uber driver's daughter. As parents, it reminded us not only to GET BUCKLED but that our kiddos were relying on us to get home safely.

It takes seconds, and maybe it will wrinkle your shirt, but a wrinkled shirt beats a shirt that has to be cut off of you after a violent crash. And don't forget - someone who loves you is relying on YOU to get home safely, too.

(Of course we would be remiss if we didn't add that it's also required by law and can be used against you if you are injured by someone else and didn't have on your seatbelt.)

Yes - As a passenger, you may have the right to file a claim against the other driver or the driver of the vehicle you were in. As always, the facts will make a difference in your claim just as they would if you were the driver. It's common for passengers to be mistakenly left off the police report, so be sure you speak to the officer at the scene and provide your information

Sudden Impact is a free educational experience for teens ages 15–18. The program teaches young drivers about the real-life consequences of driving impaired, distracted or unrestrained.

Participants will hear firsthand from trauma team members, Louisiana State Police and trauma survivors about how risky behaviors behind the wheel can change lives in an instant.

Can I just treat my injuries at home?

We get it - seeing a doctor can be scary, inconvenient, and expensive. But professional medical treatment is your best chance for physical and financial recovery. Insurance companies do not usually compensate injuries that aren't proven with medical records. And if you wait too long to see a doctor, insurance companies often argue that you didn't do your part to get better.

To wrap up Motorcycle Safety Month, here’s an important reminder: 🛑 In order to legally operate a motorcycle in Louisiana, you must have the proper certification—a motorcycle endorsement (Class M) on your driver’s license.
✅ You can earn it by passing a written knowledge test and road skills test or by completing an approved safety course (which can waive both).
✅ Then apply at the OMV with proof of ID, residency, and insurance.
Riding without the proper endorsement isn’t just risky—it’s illegal. Ride smart, ride certified, and stay safe out there.
