Do you work at a to***co, smoke, or v**e shop, or know someone who does?

These businesses often engage in unfair and unlawful employment practices, like failing to pay their employees minimum wage or overtime, paying cash under the table, taking unlawful deductions, or simply withholding paychecks from employees.

Ramsland Law has a track record of holding the owners of these businesses accountable for mistreating employees.

Ramsland Law often gets calls about race discrimination at Purdue, and has brought several of these cases against Purdue University over the years.

This latest round of completely unwarranted police violence by the Purdue University Police Dept is absolutely despicable.

Also despicable is the fact that when this officer was put on administrative leave, it wasn't because he arm-bar choked this young man. It wasn't because he threatened to tase the girlfriend who was looking on, filming, begging Jon Selke to stop. It was because the officer received "death threats."

Further despicable is the fact that Mitch Daniels seems to need more convincing than what is furnished by this video, saying that "should there be a finding of misconduct by the officer..." This from the man who views an African American scholar as "one of the rarest creatures in America," and the "rarest phenomenon." Then he laments the fact that he is misunderstood.

Purdue has not done nearly enough to repent of its segregationist past, and its continued discriminatory attitudes start at the top with Mitch Daniels and percolate down to protect those who engage in discrimination and harassment of black students and employees.

It is evil, and it needs to stop. It won't stop without a MAJOR overhaul.

You give them work and they pay you money. It's an exchange. You don't owe your employer loyalty, especially because your work will only be "loyal" to you up to the point that you stop being useful to them.

Do good work and get paid, but your work is NOT your life.

After a very long wait, Ramsland Law successfully defended a Motion for Summary Judgment in Bray v. WeCare TLC, LLC. The claims, which are headed for jury trial, are that WeCare violated its contract with the Plaintiff and unilaterally reduced his pay because it felt inconvenienced by Plaintiff's military service.

The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) prohibits discrimination against employees because of their military service, and Ramsland Law is proud to do its part to protect the rights of employees who also serve in the uniformed services.

After a hard fight, Ramsland Law secured a thorough win at trial against Jordan Manufacturing Company in Monticello, Indiana! Jordan Mfg. refused to pay a commissioned salesman for the sales he made in 2017, orders delivered in 2018. They let him work through the entire sales season and then strategically (or so they thought) fired him as the orders rolled in after the salesman's hard work.

Ramsland Law is very proud of this win and very happy for the client's victory!
