🌟 Important Update: Florida House Bill 915! 🌟

On May 22, 2025, House Bill 915 was signed into law, and it will take effect on July 1, 2025. This new law aims to protect consumers by ensuring that notaries public in Florida who are not authorized to represent clients in immigration matters do not misrepresent their services.

🔹 Under this law, notaries are prohibited from using terms such as “notario público,” “notario,” “immigration assistant,” “immigration consultant,” or “immigration specialist” in their advertising. These terms can mislead the public into thinking that they have specialized legal skills in immigration law.

🔹 The bill also mandates that businesses or individuals offering immigration services must make clear disclosures about their non-legal immigration assistance.

This change adds Sections 501.1391 and 117.051 and amends Section 117.05 of the Florida Statutes.

As professionals, it’s crucial for us to adhere to these new guidelines to ensure transparency and trust with our clients.
