Celia Clancy announces run for Killington Select Board
Dear Editor,
My name is Celia Clancy and I am asking for your vote on Aug. 11 for Killington Select Board.
Killington is a special place for me and my family. We’ve lived (and played) here as part-time residents and now as full-time resident homeowners for almost 40 years. I met my husband, John Sheehan, here, and our two adult children developed their love for skiing and the outdoors by traversing the mountain slopes and forests in town.
I am engaged and want the best for this special town. The Select Board is currently dealing with many key projects, including crafting a sustainable budget, repairing Killington Road, and overseeing Killington Forward. It is critical that these projects are managed responsibly. To do this, we need focused and collaborative leaders.
I believe I have the management, organizational, and financial-planning skills necessary for the job. I developed these skills through my extensive experience in the business and non-profit communities.
I spent my career in retail management with complex organizations, including Walmart (Senior VP), TJX (Division President), Country Curtains (CEO) and Bradlees (Senior VP). I have also served on a variety of non-profit boards, including Community Health Programs in Great Barrington, Massachusetts (Vice Chair), Habitat for Humanity in Pittsfield, Massachusetts (Board Member) and Canterbrook Farms Condominium Trust in So. Hamilton, Massachusetts (Chair).
I love this town and have great enthusiasm for both the place and the people.
If elected, I will do my utmost to listen to your concerns, work collaboratively with other board members and staff, and take proactive steps to ensure our town’s long-term financial health and stability.
Please do not hesitate to email me with any questions. I would be happy to set up a call or a coffee at your convenience: [email protected].
I hope to serve you after Aug. 11. Sincerely,
Celia Clancy, Killington
