So many people have asked me over the years “why did you go into law?” There’s really no easy explanation, other than the quick response of “I want to help people.” I know, it sounds rather naïve.
That’s the long short of it, but it’s so much more complex than that. While I share my fair-share of funny legal related meme’s, I really do have a servant’s heart. I hurt when people hurt and I want, in any way possible, to be a resource for that hurt to end.
I worked in Criminal Defense for the majority of my 19-year legal career but included a bit of Family Law and Personal Injury to mix it up a tad. I believe in the cliché sayings of “bad things happen to good people” and “you were at the wrong place at the wrong time.” While a lot of personal decisions also impact the outcome of our own story, other people’s decisions do as well. This is what led me down the path to becoming a mediator. And why mediation can help in so many situations. You can control your own outcome!
I had been a paralegal for 19 years. I felt burnt out. Between normal job stress, pandemic stress, and a few other additives, I felt like it was time to make a major jump. With the outpouring of support from my husband and family, I became credentialed to mediate.
Those “cliché sayings” I mentioned earlier? They are true, and mediation can help! If you find yourself in a family law battle, personal injury situation, or work dispute, call or email me and I can mediate! My number is 254-284-3328 (call or text) and my email is [email protected]
I look forward to working with you!
