It has been a while since I talked about insurance coverage. If you are a renter, by all means get renter's insurance to protect you from the loss of your possessions from a fire or burglary. Take a look at your car insurance and make sure you have uninsured motorist coverage for that nasty hit and run or that very common uninsured driver crashing into you. In addition get Med Pay insurance, which is a no fault health insurance to pay your medical bills after an accident. Get the highest amount your insurance company offers. It's relatively cheap.

If you don't have a will, there is a good chance that people you don't even like will inherit some of your money, real estate, or other assets. Even better, you should set up a living trust to avoid the costs of your family & friends with probate. In the long run a living trust is the least expensive way to go.

Make notes, date & time, who said what, whenever you are making an agreement, especially if it has to do with money or with someone you don't already know well. [Always with real estate!!]
