Grateful is an understatement.

We are still feeling the energy from BLACConference 2026 as pictures and videos continue to be shared!

Thank you to everyone who showed up, poured in, and helped make our first annual BLACConference a powerful gathering of purpose and community. From farmers to food advocates to allies your presence, your voices, and your work in NYS matters in our push for food equity and sovereignty.

Has it really already been a week since we gathered at BLACConference connecting with incredible farmers, land stewards, food justice leaders, and Cornell students?

We’re still feeling energized by the wisdom, community, and vision for a more just and resilient food system.

Are yall still feeling the energy from BLACConference?

We talked support. We talked skills. We talked ownership. We talked past. We talked future.

To everyone building pathways back to the land, reclaiming food systems, and pouring into our communities you are seen, and you are so necessary.

The real work continues NOW!

Grateful for the powerful voices who helped make Black Farmer United’s inaugural NYS BLACConference unforgettable 🌱✨

Thank you to our incredible keynote speakers NYS Commissioner of Agriculture and Markets, Richard Ball, Assistant Commissioner Agriculture and Markets, Damali Wynter and NYS Senator Lea Webb for sharing wisdom, inspiring action, and honoring the legacy and future of Black agriculture in New York.

Your presence and words planted seeds of knowledge, empowerment, and community that will continue to grow for generations to come.

Fort Baptist Farm is a Black owned, multi-generational, multi-cultural, multi-racial sustainable family farm so diversity isn’t just baked into their crop plans but the community they work with and grow for.

Farmer and Owner Dee Baptist along with her husband and team took us on a journey today as we toured their land and their distribution models to ensure their produce reaches the local community and communities in NYC and even as far as Ohio and what collective partnership and distribution means for a sustained Black food eco system.

Thank you to Fort Baptist Farm, we honor you and your commitment to our people.

Understanding the intricacies of breeding, grazing, maternal health, nutrition, and processing of pigs in a pasture based system is more than just farming, it’s a commitment to quality we taste and ethics we felt.

Rooting ourselves in herbal remedies and the land is an act of reclaiming ancient wisdom. By turning to plants, we move away from industrialized healthcare towards personalized, accessible medicine that treats the root or health mentally, physically, and spiritually.

Thank you for having us rootwork herbals
