A nice crowd gathered this morning to dedicate the downtown mural painted by Jenna Brownlee on the Spargrove building at the end of 2nd Ave NE! Attendees included Lisa Kremer and Chris Even with Grow Buchanan - Iowa, Nikki Barth with Independence Area Chamber of Commerce and LACES, Buchanan County Board of Supervisors, Debi Durham with Iowa Economic Development Authority, Jennie Knoebel with Iowa Arts Council, Morgan Koch with Olive The Things Consignment & More and several local businesses. Independence is blessed to have such great organizations and programs reinvesting in the arts to beautify our community!

It was an honor to be invited to the Minnesota Land Title Association. As Iowa Land Title Association president, it’s easy to think of our work as Iowa only, yet after two days with the MLTA, I’m reminded it’s a regional one. We still see legislative challenges and concerns with the next generation of title professionals. We both have a commitment to getting title work right. It was great to reconnect with Carl W. Langner, Bill Svoboda, Sarah Hedtke, Wisconsin Land Title Association and AnnMarie Arens as well as some new friends. Thanks to Tasha Schipper and the convention committee for the hospitality and a genuinely strong lineup of sessions. The takeaways provided insight into legislative impact and ways to strengthen our industry, as well as ideas for our own convention. Thank you MLTA for the warm welcome!
