Post election Texas Update: More companies moving to Texas. Today, California based consulting firm with 3,000 employees in 40+ offices worldwide announced a move from Irving, CA to Dallas, effective immediately. Also in the last week, Billion $ New Jersey tech firm, Diversified announced the move to Plano. Also in the last month, Oakland CA based medical device company Koya and San Francisco education tech company Simplilearn announced moves to Dallas and Plano.

A management consulting firm is shifting its headquarters from Irvine, California to Dallas, Texas. Italy trip continued (Venice Day 5): We started the morning with a gondola ride, followed by some sights around the city and some shopping before getting on the train back to Milan. In the train someone stole my backpack (passports, 35mm camera, other electronics, and a the Winston/dad newly purchased in Venice Italian silver coins for our collections). 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.

Italy Day 4 (Venice): On the fourth day we visited the Doge’s Palace and St Marco’s Square in the morning. At the Palace we took the “secret passages” tour which shows courts, and origins prison where Casanova was imprisoned. I find that history of the region was a lot of smaller kingdoms within Italy interesting. At the end of the day we walked over to Rialto Bridge for sunset on the Grand Canal.

Italy Day 3: took the train from Milan to Venice. Took a boat ride on the Grand Canal, saw the Rialto Bridge@and checked into our hotel (which was amazing / huge with a massive deck).

Italy Day 2 (Milan): I don’t know until we planned the trip but Leonardo De Vinci’s The Last Supper is in Milan. I was very surprised that it is a 18’ x 30’ wall mural and that there is an equal size painting of the Crucifixion of Jesus on the opposite wall.

Just got back from Spring Break in Italy. Spent an extra day there getting stolen passports replaced. Lucky we were on the train to Milan at the time my Longhorn backpack was stolen and the USA has a consulate there that could issue Emergency Passports. Lost the backpack, a Longhorn sweatshirt, 4 passports, the big Olympus 35mm camera and lens, and some other electronic devices.

Reagan competed in the Swashbuckler Challenge fencing tournament last weekend held at her club Space City Fencing. She placed 7th in the Y12 Mixed Foil competition.
