As I enter my 24th year of practicing law in 2026, I like to think back on the trajectory of my career and the pivots and turns along the way. From the HCDA's office, to 10 years of insurance defense work, and then 12 years as a plaintiff's personal injury attorney. Here is another pivot. There is no such thing as a "certified mediator" in Texas. There is, however, a 40-hour Basic Mediation Training course that mediators must take to then serve as mediators in Texas. Well, I am pleased to announce that I have completed this course, and I am now a court-qualified Mediator for personal injury cases, and I am open for business. I am a trial lawyer, and always will be, but I hope to include mediations as a part of my practice going forward. Email me at [email protected] to get on the schedule.
