I hope this post finds you well and that your lives are returning to normal after the devastating freeze event that hit our state last week. Like many of you, my family suffered through the power and water outages. Unfortunately, the freezing temperatures have resulted in many burst pipes, water heaters, and etc. The results of such events can have dramatic consequences on your home or business. If you have suffered a loss, you should promptly report it to your insurance company. Of course, as often happens, insurance companies will be trying to minimize their losses by underpaying or denying claims. If this happens to you, give us a call, we are here to help make sure you’re paid everything you’re entitled to under your policy.

We're pleased to announce another Arguello, Hope, and Associates victory in Court! Our limited partner, Nishi Kothari, alongside Clint Brasher of the Brasher Law Firm tried a first party property case in Amarillo, TX the week after Thanksgiving. The case involved a wind / hailstorm that damaged our clients' home and several outbuildings on their property. Their storage shed completely collapsed during the storm. Prior to litigation, State Farm paid them nothing. At trial, the jury awarded our clients $500K ($55K in actual damages, $50K in exemplary damages, $220K in attorney's fees through trial, and $175K in attorney's fees for appellate).

A "60 Minutes” report found several samples of laminate flooring from Lumber Liquidators violated federal safety laws due to high levels of formaldehyde.

Tomorrow is Rare Disease Day. In honor of this, the staff at Arguello, Hope, and Associates, PLLC took the time to donate and learn more about Prader-Willi Syndrome, a devastating rare disease (affects less than 200,000 people) that is a genetic disorder, with no cure, and can lead to severe childhood obesity.

Today is Election Day. There are many reasons to vote, but perhaps the most important one is because you have been given the opportunity to do so. Let your voice be heard today! Polls are open from 7am to 7pm. As long as you're in line by 7pm, you should be given the opportunity to vote. October is Nat'l Breast Cancer Awareness month. Breast cancer is the second most common disease in women. Approximately 1/8 women in the US will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. That's why Arguello, Hope, and Associates is proud to help raise awareness for breast cancer, and we will be wearing pink in support thereof. Stay tuned for pictures!

This past Sunday, we celebrated Arguello, Hope and Associates' 6th anniversary. We've seen a lot of change in the past six years, but one thing that has remained constant is our commitment to our clients. We were excited to toast to six great years, and six hundred more!
