Stonewall Law Association of Greater Houston, EPAH’s Professional Development Committee, and the HBA LGBTQ+ Section invite you to celebrate PRIDE on Wednesday, June 5th, from 5:30-7:30, as Clay Allen, General Counsel for the Houston Rockets, shares What it Means to be Out and Rockets Proud.

The event will include a tour of the Toyota Center and presentation by Clay Allen, General Counsel for the Houston Rockets. Clay Allen will be discussing what it means to be out and proud as one of the highest-profile openly gay executives in professional sports.

This program is approved for one hour of CLE.

This event is FREE for SLAGH, EPAH, & HBA LGBTQ+ Section members. Guests are $25.

Everyone is welcome, not just lawyers. Tickets are available at slaghlaw.org.

We are thrilled to announce that the Texas Bar Foundation has awarded Stonewall a $10,000 grant to found Texas's first continuous, general purpose LGBTQ+ legal aid clinic! This is an historic step to ensure that all LGBTQ+ Texans can have their legal needs met.

Thank you to Bradshaw-Carter for hosting our Friendsgivingmas party on November 30, 2023, and thank you to everyone who donated money, time, and volunteered for our Adopt-a-family this year.

For those who missed it we had a family of 4 with a single mother, who was very grateful to get their presents this year. Some of the things they received included warm clothes, a crib, mattresses, stroller and car seat, books, diapers, and of course… toys! This is the first holiday season for 2 of the family members so they will have a happy holiday thanks to the members of SLAGH.

We adopted a family for the holidays again this year! (Only this time we got pictures prior to delivery). It is a truly rewarding experience. On Wednesday, SLAGH was thrilled to host an amazing "Clutch" CLE with Clay Allen, the General Counsel for the Houston Rockets. Clay is one of very few openly gay executives in professional sports. He spoke with us about his career path, the diverse aspects of his job, and even gave us a private tour of the entire Toyota Center. This was an amazing way to kick off the newest membership year for SLAGH as we crossed the 50 active member mark leading up to this event. Keep your eyes out for more amazing CLEs & social events for our 2022-2023 year! And if you'd like to join, you can do so easily from our website!
