Garden Merchandiser (Seasonal Position): You will be visiting 4-5 retail stores daily merchandising, stacking, cleaning, and gaining extra locations for our organic soil line.

Please Only apply if meet all of the following criteria: Must live in: Southwest Houston. You must be able to lift over 70lbs consistently. You must be able to start immediately. You must have open availability and can work between 30-40 Hours a week with Monday as your off day. *Saturdays REQUIRED* This is a very hands-on position that requires you to pull and lift heavy bags of soils. You will become a product expert and will assist customers in finding the right soil for their gardening projects. You must have your own vehicle and be able to travel around the Houston metro area. The typical work schedule will be Wed-Sunday.

Qualifications: Must be 18 or older. Sales, garden, or merchandising experience preferred. You must be able to lift, push and pull up to 70lbs on a regular basis. Must have a valid driver's license and must have your own vehicle to drive. Must be reliable with good attendance and punctuality. Must have a cell phone that can take and send pictures. Competitive nature with great customer service and communication skills required. You must be able to multi-task, manage time, and work independently as well as in a group. A successful candidate will also read, write, and speak English fluently. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Kellogg Garden Products, a family-owned and operated company with roots that span over four generations is seeking seasonal Advocates to work 10 - 15 hours a week. This position is responsible for building consumer loyalty by assisting consumers in selecting products appropriate to their needs through asking questions and active listening. You’ll have a chance to help our customers in their gardening efforts by advising them on how Kellogg Garden products can best help their garden grow. We have reached an important milestone in our growth, and now we need key talent on our team to help us reach the next level. You’ll staff a display station in the gardening centers of major retail outlets during peak hours on weekend days, typically 5 hours on Saturday and 4 hours on Sunday. We furnish the opportunity; you furnish the commitment for personal excellence. You’ll learn how to quickly develop relationships at a retail level, how to engage and build excitement around truly great products, and how to sell in a consultative approach. These are skills that will advance your future career, whether you choose a future retail position, an engineering role in a high-tech company, or a sales position in a gardening product.

Required Skills; OUT-GOING. You will be approaching customers to assist them in their selection of soil amendments and potting soil. You will also be talking with store management to negotiate displays.

COMMITTED. The hours of the advocate position take place Saturday-Sunday, Your supervisor and the stores you are assigned to count on you to be there and to increase sales! Working this schedule every week for the duration of this program, is mandatory.

PHYSICALLY ABLE. All advocates must be able to lift heavy objects weighing 50 lbs or more and pull full pallets of product needed to replenish the isle and build displays.

Required Experience High school diploma or GED preferred but NOT REQUIRED and; 1 to 2 years previous sales or retail experience ideal.
