Thoroughly enjoyed today's HBA Energy Law Section's monthly luncheon topic and speaker -- "The 2024 U.S. Election & Texas Legislative and Rulemaking Trends: What Will Change for Energy?" with Jim Grace (Grace & McEwan Consulting, LLC).

Bonus for me: I also got to see Karolyn King Gillespie too!

So great to share a meal and insightful conversations last night at Association of International Energy Negotiators (AIEN) US Chapter Women in Energy Networking Dinner at Cyclone Anaya's Mexican Kitchen!

Many thanks to the event-sponsor American Arbitration Association for hosting this opportunity for us to come together to connect, network, and enjoy a wonderful meal together.

Stating the obvious: There's no place in the world like Houston for women energy networking opportunities!

We're just a week away from the ABA Section of Dispute Resolution's annual Advanced Mediation & Advocacy Skills Institute! And I'm really looking forward to moderating this conversation.

From three vantage points -- outside litigation counsel Troy Ford, in-house risk management counsel Timothy Ammons, and insurance counsel Lesley Smith -- we're going to be talking about what works and doesn't in mediations. This conversation will explore approaches they've seen used by effective mediators and include some of their own stories and advice for enhancing the mediation process. In short, we plan to pull-back-the-curtain and speak candidly about what they've seen work and what they've seen that doesn't work in mediation.

Join us next week for this conversation, and other outstanding presentations in this 2-day webinar training series. Register here: https://lnkd.in/gwy8fNRh

Sneak peek: On day 1, don't miss Noah Hanft's conversation with Ken Feinberg exploring the intersection of law, empathy, and high-stakes negotiations following his leadership in administering the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund.

In just a few short weeks, the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association (TMCA) will be hosting our 20th Annual Symposium and I'm really looking forward to moderating this panel discussion: Successful Early Mediations: Effective Tips, Strategies, & Best Practices with Mary Cullen, Noah Hanft, and Christopher Pappas!

In prepping for this panel discussion, one thing is certain, there is a wealth of insight and information that each conveys about the value and benefits of opening lines of communication for possible resolution early in the lifecycle of a commercial conflict.

Registration is open. We hope to see you there!

Whether you're a neutral or construction transactional or litigation lawyer, this month's topic is one you'll want to hear.
