I’m so excited to be receiving the Alpha Phi Alpha Martin Luther King, Jr. community service award. I don’t serve my community for acknowledgement…but it feels so good to be appreciated.

Mayor Toby Barker and several other local figures will be honored with various awards at the 16th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Ecumenical & Scholarship Celebration, hosted by Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity – the Mu Gamma Lambda Chapter and the Mu Xi Chapter.

What you CANNOT do is never talk to me in real life and then text me on my personal cell when you need something. If that is how our connection operates, you’re not a friend, you’re a client and my office number is 601-467-9694. Govern yourselves accordingly.

So my baby sister, Marlina, told me that today was “Love Litigating Lawyers” Day…so go ahead: LOVE ME! ♥️

I am so honored to have been one of those featured for Black History Month this year.

Hattiesburg is host to many within the African American community who have helped advance racial equality and made historic contributions both for the city and the nation. Here are just a few of the great Black men and women that have called Hattiesburg home. 1. Raylawni Branch

Thieves come in many forms:

Some are criminals who sneak in your house and take your belongings while you sleep or while you’re away.

Some are love interests or spouses who come into your life and suck you dry financially, ruin your credit and otherwise make your life miserable.

Some are business owners who take your money and don’t provide the products or do the work that they were hired to do.

Some are patrons who come to your place of business, use your goods or services and then demand a refund after you’ve put in the work (in and after hours) trying to make it happen for them.

Either way, it’s deception...it’s fraud...it’s stealing...it’s breaking a commandment.

If you are drinking this holiday weekend, either designate a driver, call Uber/Lyft or find yourself a spot on the floor at the house where you’re drinking and sleep it off. I don’t care if you live “right over there,” do not risk it and get behind the wheel of a car if you’re under the influence!

The popo will not be playing with y’all this weekend. It will be all fun and games until you are getting booked in at the county jail!! This is my free legal advice and public notice to you...so if you get locked up, don’t call me or inbox me. My law office is closed from this Wednesday to Monday, November 30.

So let’s recap: Here are the 4 D’s of enjoying your holiday weekend safely and staying free from the bo***ge of jailhouse shackles:

1. DESIGNATE a driver! If you ain’t got no friends, Uber and Lyft serve all areas.

2. DO NOT DRIVE if you’ve been drinking!

3. If you decide to be a dummy, DIAL a bail bondsman when you get arrested...because the most important D is...

4. DO NOT CALL ME! My law office is closed until Monday!
