To begin let me say "thank you" to all the officers and families who sacrifice for the betterment and protection of others.
Moving on. I would love to see more, "older and wiser", officers in the ranks of all law enforcement agencies. What does sadden me though is that/those officer(s) who do the job because it unjustly inflates their ego or because it is a "kick".
These officers do exist, in smaller or larger numbers, in most enforcement ranks. They are also the ones that typically contribute the most to police officer's "bad" reputation and the least to the "good" reputation as well.
To the ultimate point, better men and women, younger or older, but absolutely wiser... please fill these ranks.
