How you thought buying a home would go...
Find one on Zillow. Tour it Saturday. Make an offer. Close in 30 days. Post the keys.
What actually happens on the Coast in 2026:
Get pre-approved, then find out your budget has other plans. Spend a few months searching and fall in love with at least two houses you can't afford yet. Write an offer, lose to cash. Write another, learn what an escalation clause is the hard way. Finally get one accepted, and the inspector finds something that sends you back to square one. Your agent starts texting you listings before your coffee's ready because she knows you and this house are meant to be. You land on the one that checks 8 of your 12 boxes and somehow it's perfect anyway. Close a few days late because the lender wanted one more form, obviously.
Get the keys. Skip the Instagram post. Just sit in your new living room for a minute and enjoy it.
That's homebuying on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Bumpy, occasionally ridiculous, always worth it. And a lot smoother with someone in your corner who's seen it all before.
