Melissa attended Indiana University and graduated with a double major in Biology and Education Special Ed. She continued her education post undergraduate in nursing, which gave her an opportunity to be a part of the Intensive Care Unit-Critical Care, where she worked for 3 years. Because of her medical background she brings a caring, patient, and deep understanding of critical situations. Followed by the ICU she worked on the Oncology Unit for 1.5 years mentoring both family and patient through the process of treatments. Melissa received many service value awards on both units, in recognition for her exceptional and outstanding work performance. In 2016 she held the title Miss North Shore, competing in the USA MISS IL Pageant. In just two weeks, all former Miss IL contestants raised over $17,000 for children battling leukemia, in effort to support the Ross Foundation, "Warriors for Ross." She also participates in every charitable foundation represented by Coldwell Banker Realty in the activities, fundraisers and efforts to raise donation money for more than 15 charitable organizations.
