UVIPC Baby Gates Recalled Due to Entrapment Hazard; Violation of Federal Regulations for Gates and Enclosures

Gates were sold exclusively on Amazon.com from November 2022 through September 2024 for between $186 and $230.

The versions with a pet door allow a child’s torso to fit through the secondary opening, and for the other versions that are adjustable, a child’s torso can fit through the opening between the gate slat and side wall. These violations pose an entrapment hazard to children.

“CPSC estimates that portable heaters, including electric space heaters, are involved in an average of 1,600 fires per year, resulting in an average of 70 deaths and 160 injuries annually from 2019 to 2021.

Portable heaters can cause fires if they are placed too close to combustible materials such as drapes, furniture or bedding, so make sure to place them at least three feet away from these materials. Always plug electric space heaters directly into a wall outlet and never into an extension cord or power strip, to prevent overloading and causing a fire. Never leave portable heaters turned on while sleeping. Fuel-burning portable heaters should never be refueled while in use. To avoid fire, turn the heater off and allow it to cool down before refueling. “

South Shore Cribs Recalled Due to Entrapment Hazard!!

🚨Hazard: The spacing between some of the crib’s slats is wider than allowed, posing an entrapment hazard.

Federal regulations require slat spacing to be no more than 2 3/8” apart to prevent such incidents from occurring.

✳️Remedy: Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for refund instructions on how to disassemble and discard.

Beberoad New Moon Travel Bassinets violate federal safety regulations for Infant Sleep Products because they do not have a stand, posing a fall hazard if used on elevated surfaces.

Only bassinets manufactured on or after June 23, 2022 are included in this recall. The model name, model number TB999-1, and manufacture date in DD/YYYY format are located on the bottom of the bassinet in a sewn-in tag.

As per the AAP infant safe sleep guidelines, the use of weighted swaddles, weighted sleep sacks or weighted objects on or near the baby are NOT safe and NOT recommended.

Avoid commercial products that advertise weighted solutions for infant sleep and dispose of weighted items that you have purchased for your baby.

Hatch Baby Recalls Power Adapters Sold with Rest 1st Generation Sound Machines Due to Shock Hazard

🚨UPDATE: Several customers have shared that their 2nd generation ones are affected by the recall as well.

“The power adapters have model number CYAP05 050100U. The adapters have a white rectangular plastic housing that plugs directly into the wall socket. The model number, amps (“1.0A”), “Jiangsu Chenyang Electron Co. LTD”, and “Made in China” are printed in black near the prongs on the power adapter. The power adapter was not sold separately.”

“Sold At:
Online at Hatch.co and Amazon.com, and at BuyBuyBaby, Target, Walmart, Nordstrom, Pottery Barn Kids and BestBuy stores nationwide from January 2019 through September 2022 for between $60 and $70 with certain Rest 1st Generation sound machines, and on Amazon.com from January 2019 through May 2024 for between $60 and $200 with certain Rest 1st Generation sound machines.”

🎆 BABIES AND LOUD NOISES 🎆

Fireworks are about to become a nightly occurrence we know it can be very disrupting to a child’s sleep.

🎆 Try to keep each sound machine at no more than 50 decibels.

There are apps on smartphones that can check the levels.

🎆 Ensure the machine and cords are well away from the sleep space.

Manuals state to have cords at least 3 feet away or hidden/not reachable.
