The EJCBA's Annual Margaret Stack Holiday Project is underway! As in 2022, this year the Project will benefit the Alachua, Bradford, and Union County Pre-K Exceptional Student Education (ESE) programs. We will provide 7 books to each of the 25 Pre-K ESE classrooms in those three counties and a fun but educational toy to each of the 394 students!

The April 2024 EJCBA Leadership-Diversity Roundtable will be hosted on April 12 at the Wooly starting at 8:00 am. Following the Roundtable, the April Luncheon will be feature Florida Bar President Scott Westheimer starting at 11:45 am. EJCBA 2024 Professionalism Seminar

Professionalism: Understanding Generational Differences Affecting the Practice of Law

The Professionalism Seminar will commence with a panel discussion of professionalism and an analysis of generational differences that impact the professional practice of law. The panelists include Chief Judge Mark W. Moseley, Kevin Jurecko, Esq., Stephanie Marchman, Esq., Evan Gardiner, Esq., and Danielle Adams, Esq., who will offer multi-generational insight into areas essential to the practice of law and the effect on professionalism. These perspectives will shed light on the commonalities and differences in the level of professionalism across generations with the goal of increasing professionalism in all generations.

CLE Anticipated for 3.5 General CLE hours, which includes
2.0 ethics hours and 1.5 professionalism hours

Location: Trinity United Methodist Church - 4000 NW 53rd Ave, Gainesville, FL
Time: Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Program begins at 9:00 a.m.

Thank you to the EJCBA Holiday Project Committee for another successful year! The Holiday project was able to provide 300 gifts to all Pre-K and Kindergarten students in Baker, Gilchrist, and Levy County, plus books and toys for all 28 classrooms!

Please join the seventh annual Amaze-Inn Race on November 2, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. The Amaze-Inn Race is a legal themed scavenger hunt where judges, lawyers, and law students are placed into teams to participate in activities challenging the body, mind, and taste buds throughout downtown Gainesville. Participants must solve clues to determine the locations of various challenges. Past challenges have included taking an immigration quiz, eating goat, scoring points on a pinball machine, cross fit workouts, and singing in Bo Diddley Plaza. There are challenges for every skill level and ability!

The event is a collaborative effort among the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association, James C. Adkins Inn of Court, and Gerald T. Bennett Inn of Court. A reception and awards ceremony will follow the Race. Cost of admission is two NEW unwrapped books or toys (each valued at $10 or above) for the EJCBA and Margaret Stack’s Holiday Project, selected from the Wishlist links below.
