I’m proud to share a milestone in my academic and advocacy work.

My chapter, “United States: Sectoral Regulation, Administrative Harm, and Survivor-Led Innovation,” has received an “accept with minor revisions” decision for an upcoming edited volume on AI and law with Taylor & Francis / Routledge.

The reviewer described the work as original, deeply insightful, and one of the strongest contributions to the volume, with revisions focused on structure and clarity rather than substance.

This chapter draws from lived experience, legal analysis, and years of observing how administrative and algorithmic systems impact employment, benefits, and dignity—and argues for survivor-led, ethically grounded AI governance.

Grateful for thoughtful editorial guidance and for the space to bring lived experience into serious policy and academic conversations.

Onward. 🌱

@ everyone
HAPPY NOTARY OF PUBLIC DAY!!!
Blessing for Notary Public Officials
May the Lord watch over all notary public officials this year,
Guiding their hands and hearts as they serve with integrity and care.
May they find strength in their duties, wisdom in their choices,
And peace in knowing their work is vital to many voices.
In every signature they authenticate, may truth prevail,
May they be filled with compassion, where justice will not fail.
Bless their journeys and their homes, keep them safe each day,
Surround them with Your love, Lord, in every single way.
Let every document they verify be a testament of trust,
May their actions reflect goodness, honesty, and just.
In Your hands, Lord, we place their lives and the work they do,
Protect them, guide them, and let their spirits renew.
Amen.

Notary Public Day is celebrated on November 7 each year to honor the contributions of notaries to society, particularly in facilitating legal and commercial transactions. The day was first observed in 1975 and recognizes the important role notaries play in ensuring the integrity of documents and agreements.

Notary Public Day

In America, an estimated 1.25 billion-plus documents are notarized per year. Looking purely at the math, that’s around 3.61 notarizations per year, for every one of the 346-plus million people living in the United States
adults, youth and children.

It’s no wonder America has a healthy population of notaries to address this perennial need for notarizations. Here, we clearly value the transactional assurances that notarization provides to all parties relying on the effects of signed documents.

The U.S. notary population is as diverse and dynamic as its citizens. Like many of their compatriots, notaries quietly but competently go about their duties with little fanfare and frankly, too little recognition.

In 1974, the Board of Directors of the American Society of Notaries decided something must be done to recognize and applaud America’s notaries for the indispensable services they provide. The Board issued a proclamation declaring November 7, annually, as Notary Public Day.

Each year on this date, today’s notaries are celebrated for their tireless work and dedication. November 7 is indeed a special day in notary history and lore—it is the day that America’s first notary, Thomas Fugill, was appointed. (October 25, 1639, by the Julian calendar and now November 7 by the Gregorian calendar in use today).

Today’s notaries are indispensable to the free flow of commerce and highly sensitive personal transactions that occur in daily life. By properly performing their notarial duties, America’s notaries help prevent fraud and enable document signings to be transacted with certain assurances that are needed and valued by relying parties.

Notaries are everywhere in the public and private sectors, notarizing for employers and/or notarizing as sole proprietors. Each day and especially on Notary Public Day, American Society of Notaries encourages everyone involved with a notary or notaries public to spotlight and applaud these indispensable public servants.
