A major Fort Worth affordable housing update just dropped: a $2 million grant is helping deliver a new supportive housing project for residents facing chronic homelessness in Tarrant County.
The project is Journey Home Housing at Crowley Road, led by Presbyterian Night Shelter, and the release says it includes 96 housing units.
How the funding works: this is an Affordable Housing Program (AHP) grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (FHLB Dallas), awarded through member bank Texas Capital.
Why this matters locally (beyond one headline):
• Adds supportive housing inventory in Fort Worth
• Targets residents experiencing chronic homelessness in Tarrant County
• Shows continued use of regional/public-private financing tools to expand housing access in North Texas
Bigger context: FHLB Dallas reported broader AHP activity in the region, including large annual grant totals tied to thousands of housing units, which helps explain why these announcements are showing up more often across Texas metros.
