Targamite has developed a portable robotic target system – called the “Targabot” - that not only addresses military and law enforcement leaderships' call for improved baseline marksmanship, but further offers enhancement of situational awareness, along with rapid threat detection and shoot/no shoot judgement abilities, the combination of which will lead to reduced non-combatant and friendly fire casualties.

The Targabot’s keynote feature is its capability to behave unpredictably, like human adversaries encountered in the field, using an internal random number generation program along with artificial intelligence (“AI”) agents. A twenty-pound chassis weight, briefcase size, and a small footprint of multiple units permit convenient and fast set-up / take-down, facilitating implementation of advanced live-fire training platforms domestically, in theatre, on ships at sea, in portable training facilities, and in other mobile and expeditionary contexts. The portability of these devices also permits easy arrangements and rearrangements of drill courses during training sessions, further enhancing the unpredictability factor. It is both AC or DC (battery) powered, is equipped with 8 factory modes of operation, each with individualized difficultly ramping capabilities, is remotely controllable out to 1,000m, operates either autonomously or under the trainer’s direct control, and is caliber agnostic, uses virtually any standard paper target and takes only minutes to integrate into existing ranges and training scenarios. This unique combination of characteristics has drawn the attention of armed forces, law enforcement and other tactical trainers, including:
