Univision covered the wrongful death lawsuit TorHoerman Law partner Alan Holcomb filed on behalf of the family of Amadeo Reyes Barrios, a 44-year-old worker killed at a vegetative waste recycling facility in Marietta, Georgia.
Reyes Barrios was untying a rope from a pile of debris when an excavator operator lifted the material without confirming the area was clear. He was lifted with the pile and found trapped beneath it when it came down. He left behind his wife and three children.
"This was not an inevitable accident. We believe that basic safety measures were not followed, including ensuring workers were out of the danger zone before moving material," said Holcomb.
