A Practice Born from Real Life Experience

My commitment to this work isn't just professional; it’s deeply personal. I began my legal career in New York in 1996, spending over a decade handling complex tax and financial matters in both New York and Georgia for prominent accounting firms and major corporations like PricewaterhouseCoopers, Merrill Lynch and AT&T.

However, in 2008, my life changed instantly. My first wife was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and passed away just six months later. During that incredibly painful period, I had to navigate the exact anxieties my clients face today. I stepped up to build her estate plan and establish trusts for her four sons—including a special needs trust for my youngest stepson who has autism.

That profound life experience changed my perspective forever. In 2009, I chose to shift away from tax to dedicate my practice entirely to helping families protect what matters most. I know firsthand what it feels like to worry about your family’s future, your spouse's protection, and your children’s well-being.

Why a CELA Designation Matters for Your Peace of Mind

Elder law and estate planning are far more legally complicated than most people imagine. To ensure my clients have the absolute highest level of protection, I earned my designation as a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) from the National Elder Law Foundation.

This certification is not just a badge of achievement. It is a strict, independent credential accredited by the American Bar Association that requires years of dedicated practice, peer reviews, and rigorous testing.

To put it in perspective, there are slightly over 500 CELAs across the entire country, and I am one of only 12 CELAs in the State of Georgia.

Beyond my practice, I have previously advocate for our community by serving on the Board of the Elder Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and as Chair of the Board of the Brain Injury Association of Georgia.
