I am an Interfaith Minister, the Founding Director and Lead Spiritual Counselor of Modern Soulful Living Ministries, an interfaith healing arts and education nonprofit focused on personal development, mental health, and spiritual wellness. As a published writer and digital journalist, I have contributed to platforms such as Sierra Club, Patheos, Fierce Truth Spiritual Magazine, Mom’s Clean Air Force, and Mom’s Rising, elevating voices on spirituality, justice, and community health. Currenty serving as a Legal Secretary with the City of Detroit - Government. My leadership journey includes former roles as Deputy Director at Detroit Action, Communications Coordinator with Give a Beat, Just Transition Organizer with Climate Justice Alliance, Detroit Organizer with Sierra Club, Environmental Justice Fellow with NAACP, and Climate Fellow with WE ACT for Environmental Justice. I was the Founder of the Detroit Environmental & Water Alliance, a community group championing clean air, water, and a just transition to a green economy. Academically, I hold a Bachelor of Science from Eastern Michigan University with triple concentrations in Women and Gender Studies, Public Law and Government, and Criminology/Criminal Justice. I am recognized as a CLEO Pre-Law Scholar by Thomas Cooley Law School. In addition, I continued advancing my expertise by earning my Bachelor of Business Administration in Organizational Leadership from Cleary University and a Master of Business Administration at Atlanta College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. In addition, I hold a Doctor of Divinity in Spiritual Awareness from the Universal Life Church Seminary and serve as an ordained Interfaith Minister. I am currently a student at Trinity Law School studying for my dual Master of Law/ Juris Doctorate. Creatively, I am known as "Goddess Dorthea," an artist, model, poet, and singer-songwriter who believes in the healing power of words, music, and sacred leadership.
