Ahora las personas esperando una Visa U de victima de crimen podrán obtener un permiso de trabajo mas rápido. USCIS hará una revisión de tu aplicación para determinar que tu aplicación tiene todos los requisitos necesarios para ser aprobada y el aplicante no posa un riesgo de seguridad nacional o publica. Esas personas serán aprobadas para un permiso de trabajo temporal mientras la aplicación sigue procesando. Para personas que no califiquen para este programa, su aplicación todavía será revisada bajo el proceso regular.

Those who are waiting for adjudication of their U Visa applications as victims of crime may now get a temporary work permit faster. USCIS will review applications and if it determines that they are bona fide and the person does not pose a risk to national or public safety they will be issued a temporary work permit while the application goes through the normal review process. Those who do not qualify under this program will still have their U visas reviewed under the normal process.

The change will benefit immigrants who have applied for the U visa, a program that currently has a backlog of 270,000 applications.

Excelentes noticias! La Camara de Representates acaba de pasar una ley que le daria estatus a casi 5 millones de beneficiarios de DACA o Dreamers. Todavia tiene que pasar en el Senado y ser firmada por el Presidente Biden para que se convierta en ley pero este es el primer paso.

Great news! The House of Representatives just passed a bill that would give permanent status to almost 5 million DACA recipients or Dreamers. It still needs to be approved by the Senate and signed by President Biden in order to become law but this is the first step of the process.

House Democrats passed legislation Thursday that would create a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers, taking a piecemeal approach to immigration reform as the fate of President Biden’s comprehensive package looks increasingly uncertain.
