Kids CAR⁴E² Club aims to motivate kids and people of all ages to get involved in helping take care of the Earth by promoting conservation through awareness about littering, teaching environmental education, and encouraging recycling. The acronym CAR⁴E² stands for conservation, awareness, reduce, reuse, recycle, repurpose, and environmental education. The club’s main mission is to pick up trash whe
rever we go and use a travel trash kit that is made from reused and recyclable items from home which the club will teach you how to make. Conservation: The club advocates for the overall well-being of our Earth. We need to take action and fight to protect and preserve the ecosystems, environment and wildlife that sustain our very own lives. Awareness: First and foremost, it is imperative to bring awareness to one’s community that littering is a problem and the impact it has on the Earth. We would like to bring awareness to other children, the generation of the future, to help save our future by saving the Earth through conservation. The club encourages members and people of all ages to become aware and look around. A guideline for the club would be to lead by example, that when we walk by a piece of trash to take a few extra seconds, throw it away, and not to ignore it. People WILL notice, thus bringing awareness in leading by example to others who previously may not have noticed that littering is a problem. R⁴ - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repurpose: Our main focus and mission is to pick up trash wherever we walk on our daily routines. We, also, want to encourage people to reduce, reuse, recycle, and repurpose in everyday life and to apply the 4 R’s to the trash they pick up. E² - Environmental Education: Though there are many aspects to environmental education. The club will begin its focus on teaching others how to start CAR⁴E²ing TODAY by doing something as simple as not littering, to pick up trash when they see it while out on their daily routines, and to take it even one step further by using the 4 R’s. We will teach others how to make their own travel trash kits from reused and recycled items from home. Part of the environmental education would be to educate people why they should not liter, informing them of the consequences of littering both civically and environmentally. We will aspire to educate the community why they should care and what will happen to the environment if we do not start conserving.
