Evaluation of police use of force is not constrained to a “they deserved it” or “it was murder” binary. It can be both legally justified (reasonable based on facts known to officer at the time) AND in hindsight (once all facts are known and analyzed), we would agree that the decedent did not “deserve it” or did not “need to be” killed.
