💜 Honoring Our Military Children on Purple Up Day 💜

ABLE Savings Accounts (established through the State Treasurer’s office) can often protect unearned income (including SS benefits and back pay) from impacting eligibility for SSI or other public benefits, including Medicaid and SNAP.

The Social Security Administration has two types of disability benefits available to individuals under retirement age who are unable to work because of their medical conditions – SSDI (Disability Insurance) is available for those that worked and paid into the SSA system; SSI (Supplemental Security Income) is a needs-based payment system for adults and children.

Help is out there with Social Security Disability appeals!! Attorney representatives are not allowed to charge any fee without SSA approval, and most cases are taken on a contingency fee basis. This means no payment to the attorney unless you receive retroactive benefits!
