We are seeking a family law associate, with 1-2 years of family law experience, who is deeply committed to advocating for clients while maintaining excellent judgment and professionalism. The ideal candidate is driven, organized, and capable of both settling cases amicably and litigating strategically when necessary. If you're looking for a firm where your voice is heard and your work is respected, we'd love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities:
Handle a range of family law matters, including divorce, custody, support, and property division
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements
Conduct legal research and prepare for hearings, mediations, and trials
Maintain close communication with clients and guide them through difficult transitions
Participate in settlement negotiations and, when appropriate, represent clients in court
Work collaboratively with colleagues in a culture that prioritizes mutual support and professional growth

Qualifications:
J.D. from an accredited law school
Licensed and in good standing with the Maryland Bar
Minimum 1-2 years of experience practicing family law
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong negotiation and litigation skills
High emotional intelligence and a commitment to client-centered advocacy
Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, values-driven environment

Shannon Kowitz, Esquire argued at the Appellate Court of Maryland this week. After her client was awarded lesser child support and a monetary award, the opposing party appealed. The court accepted her argument with little questions. We are hopeful that the lower court’s opinion will be affirmed.
