Big Deal Alert🚨coming your way!!

Last week I had the honor to argue an appeal for one of my favorite clients before the First District Appellate Court… the client was charged with and convicted of first degree murder through the theory of accountability. But he hired me after his trial to pick up the pieces. And by articulating some significant errors made by the trial court I was able to right a tremendous wrong as the appellate court held that my client’s conviction would be REVERSED and remanded back for a new trial!
An incredible amount of patience, hard work, and legal prowess went into writing the briefs and arguing before the court, and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without support from my team and tribe. I’m just glad that it all paid off so I have the strength to keep trying to fix a very broken system, one person at a time.

⚖️NOT GUILTY⚖️
While 8 months pregnant with this little munchkin (almost 5 years ago), my client was attacked by her boyfriend’s friend during an argument. He choked her, head butted her, and threw her to the ground. Knowing she had to save not only her own life but the life of her unborn child, she did what she could to protect herself… she stabbed the guy… but subsequently SHE was charged with Attempt 1st Degree Murder.

I am happy to announce that after five long years of weathering the criminal justice system we finally got our girl the beautiful NOT GUILTY she always deserved. (Because if she hadn’t defended herself, neither she nor her beautiful kiddo would be here today).

The Cook County courts have been closed for two and a half months now and I’ve been left feeling not useful and without much sense of purpose. But as the days pass since George Floyd’s death I’ve realized that in times like this of unrest, unbalance, and uncertainty it’s more important than ever to help each other. So in order to do my part in giving a voice to the voiceless I’m offering legal assistance to those arrested during protests around the city. I’ve always adopted a help-me-help-you attitude when it comes to criminal defense, meaning there are certain steps you can take to make things easier for yourself (and me) in the long run if you are implicated in a crime or have any run-ins with the law, and now is no different.
So if you plan to go to any protests/rallies etc. please follow the guidelines in the pictures above to stay as safe as possible as you’re being heard. And if you or anyone you know gets arrested CALL ME. I’m here to help. 773-955-0400.

As a criminal defense attorney I see on a daily basis how important it is to have judges who not only know the law but are compassionate, smart, and act in the interest of justice and fairness. My good friend and mentor, Anthony Lucafo, exceeds all of those elements tenfold and I am so honored to vote for him for Judge today. I highly suggest you do the same. The Law Office is SO proud to announce that our Chicago-Kent trial advocacy team students were quarter-finalists in the invitational Syracuse National Trial Competition! For those of you who don’t know, in addition to being a trial attorney I’m also an adjunct professor and a trial advocacy team coach at Chicago-Kent because giving back to the program that made me who I am gives me life and seeing all these young talented attorneys-to-be keeps me young!
