At a young age I remember spending a lot of time in my uncles darkroom as he showed me how to develop film and use different cameras. I learned a great deal from him and around five years of age, I seemed to always carry around a 110 camera. In high school, I was the photographer for our school paper. After those days I spent day after day taking photos, trying “new” ideas and found a happiness th
at I was able to express through photography. Within my early twenties it was all abruptly taken away as someone broke into my car and stole every piece of equipment that I had owned at the time. Unfortunately, that left a sour taste for a bit but I eventually recovered from it and kept on with photography. I enjoy shooting with both digital and film. They equally have their pros and cons and I just find it a delight to capture that special moment. Although I may photograph many bands, that hasn’t stopped me from shooting other things that I find interesting on a daily basis, from people to random macro shots and strange lighting found on the streets. I prefer to keep my developing pretty simple but I will occasionally add another layer to make a certain photo POP. Some of the past photography that I’ve done ranges from lawyers, national/local bands, corporate events, couples, roller derby, fashion, sure microphone, theatre, pets, children and even some food. My “go to” camera:
Canon 60D
Canon 18-135mm
Sigma 28-105mm
Canon 50mm
Speedlite 430EX II flash
For fun:
Hasselblad 503cx
80mm
metz 32CT3 flash
This is merely a basic list of what I use on a regular basis and doesn’t include hoods, filters, viewfinders, lenses, etc.
