The Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA) at Chicago-Kent College of Law warmly invites you to join us for our APALSA Alumni Mixer and Scholarship Award Ceremony on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 6:00 PM in Morris Hall (10th Floor) at the Chicago-Kent College of Law.

APALSA Alumni and associates, as well as C-K faculty and staff are invited. All Chicago-Kent students, including non-APALSA members, are welcome to attend!

This free event is a wonderful opportunity for alumni, students, faculty, and members of the legal community to reconnect, network, and celebrate the continued growth of the APALSA community. Food and refreshments will be provided.

During the event, we will also present the APALSA Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship, which awards one (1) $1,000 scholarship to a current Chicago-Kent law student who has demonstrated a commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion in the legal profession. The scholarship recipient will be announced and honored during the mixer.

We are excited to announce that our annual APALSA Diversity & Inclusion Scholarship is now accepting applications. The scholarship serves as financial support for ANY current Chicago-Kent 1L, 2L, or 3L/4Ls as they pursue their legal education. Non-APALSA members are welcome to apply.

This year, we will award one (1) $1000 scholarship.
Eligible applicants must complete the information in the form, attach an updated resume, and submit the required essay by the deadline Sunday, March 29th, 2026, 11:59 CST. Please do not include any identifying information in your essay. Applications will be reviewed anonymously by the selection committee. The winner will be announced at our APALSA Alumni Mixer and Scholarship Award Ceremony on April 2nd, 2026 at 6pm in Morris Hall.

APALSA members, you're invited to attend First Gen's Career Panel tomorrow night in lieu of our October GBM!

Join us for a casual night of asking attorneys and judges questions about their career, the path they took to get there, and what advice or wisdom they can pass along to us. The panel itself will be Wednesday, October 29th, from 5:30 to 6:30 in Room 580. A casual networking mixer will take place right after in the Game Room on the 5th floor from 6:30 to 7:30. Light snacks will be provided!

Huge congratulations to Tony Nguyen for being selected to speak at the Peggy Browning Awards Reception in Chicago!

Tony was invited to speak about his motivations for pursuing workplace justice through labor law, as well as his experience as a Peggy Browning Fellow. The Peggy Browning Fellowship Program awards stipends to law students across the country. The Fellows dedicate their summer to working and advocating workers’ rights by working for labor unions, labor not-for-profit organizations, and more.

After being selected as a Fellow, Tony spent this past summer in Seattle, Washington representing rideshare drivers. He also recently attended the 25th Annual National Law Students Workers’ Rights Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as part of his Fellowship.

Please join us in congratulating APALSA Board Members Tony Nguyen and Milan Doan on competing in the Thomas Tang Regional Moot Court Competition this weekend!

They advanced through preliminary rounds, semi-finals, and finals to ultimately place 2nd in oral arguments. Because they finished as finalists, they will be heading to the Thomas Tang National Moot Court Competition to compete again later this year!

Moreover, the team won Best Brief for the written portion of the competition.

Finally, Milan Doan won Best Oralist of the competition.
