Rest In Peace Dolly, we love you!
Today, Sevierville mourns the loss of our hometown girl, Dolly Parton.
From humble beginnings here in the mountains of East Tennessee, Dolly went on to become a light to the entire world. Through her music, her generosity, her faith, her humor, and her extraordinary heart, she brought joy to millions and showed us all just how much good one person can put into the world.
She became an icon. A legend. A dreamer who inspired generations of people to dream a little bigger themselves. But through it all, she never forgot where she came from.
We will forever be proud that Dolly’s remarkable story began here, in Sevierville. Her light reached every corner of the world, but these mountains were always home.
There will never be another Dolly.
Today, our hearts are with her family, her loved ones, and the countless people around the world who loved her.
Thank you, Dolly, for the music, the laughter, the generosity, and the love. Thank you for making the world brighter simply by being in it.
