"We bought our house a year ago and later found there was a latent defect, meaning the real estate company fraudulently hid damages. On our residential contract, it asked the seller if there were any wood-destroying insects or if the property had been treated for any wood destroying insects. That line said ‘N/A’. Clearly, they’d covered up the situation with new drywall and tried to jerry-rig the stairs with new wood against the termite-damaged wood. We had a contractor who specialized in termite restoration give us an estimate of $68,000.00 (including damages, materials, and labor). We turned this over to our LegalShield law firm. The attorneys wrote a letter (as well as several emails) and made several phone calls on our behalf to this company. Long story short, the company has agreed to pay for and fix all the damages in our home as well as pay for housing for the time we will be out of our home. This $30 a month membership just saved my family over $68,000.00."

“I’d been working for my employer for 4 years. In July, a new boss took over the office and it soon became a pretty hostile work environment.

"I tried to trade in my car, but the dealership only wanted to give me $2,000 ...when I thought it should have been worth at least $9,000; then, the dealership told me my car had frame damage! I told them that was impossible, because I was never in an accident the entire time I owned the car, and I bought it with a clean Car Fax. Apparently, the original place I bought it from knew it was in an accident, but never disclosed it to me!! So, I called my Legalshield Provider Firm and the attorney who called me back listened to my situation then decided to write a demand letter on my behalf stating the laws and my legal rights. Two weeks later, I got a check in the mail for the original purchase price of the car I bought 3 years ago -- $13,544!!! Thank you, Legalshield!"

"I had a gym membership which I cancelled because I hurt my shoulder. I had a doctor’s certificate, but they kept charging me and threatened to send me to collections. I called our law firm and they wrote one letter and calls and the charges immediately stopped. Apparently, there’s a law which says if they don’t stop (because I provided a doctor’s certificate), I can sue them for $35,000. I always tell other people - if we don’t know the law, we can’t fight effectively."

"I was very happy with services I'd received at my local UPS store, and got an email survey from UPS that day I was happy to complete. After submitting my survey, a thank-you popped up, and I could choose a gift — all I had to pay was $4.99 for shipping. I chose a 'miracle-all-your-wrinkles-will-be-gone' cream. A few days later, the cream arrived. Great! I checked my account, and $4.99 was charged. Great! Didn't think much more of it, used the cream ... kept my wrinkles ... then a few weeks later, I got ANOTHER jar of cream. Checked my account and saw I'd been billed $197!! I called the 'cream company' and they said their policy was to give me a 50% store credit -- no refunds. So, I called LegalShield and explained that I had NEVER signed up for auto-shipment. My lawyer wrote a letter on my behalf, and about 10 days later, I received a full refund, including $4.99 for shipping."

“Recently, I received a letter from the California State Tax Franchise. The letter stated that I owed in excess of $6,000 for the tax years of 2000, and 2001. I did not live in CA in those years. So, I called them. I was on hold for an hour and 58 minutes. When I finally reached a human, I was told that I held a license in Speech Pathology and that I lived in Inglewood. Um... No. The representative was not kind and she basically gave me until April 8th to pay the money. I laughed. I called my Provider Law Firm here in Oregon who had me fax over the docs. They reviewed them and forwarded them to the CA Provider Law Firm. The CA law firm had me fill in and sign a form stating I am a victim of Identity theft. They then contacted the tax board on my behalf and the subject of the $6,000 has been resolved. The peace of mind of not having to deal with that issue by myself is priceless.”
