Coats needed!!! The deadline has past but I’m told that the Union County Christmas Bureau is in desperate need of coats. Please drop off your gently used coats at any Mills Cleaners in Union County. They will clean them and give them to the Christmas Bureau. Merry Christmas

The case of the "Grim Sleeper", a serial murderer in Californina, was solved using a "Familial" DNA search. It was used in NC in early 2000 to find a murderer and let an innocent man go free. Familial DNA searches are not allowed in NC anymore. That needs to change. With the current mood in the State Legisature the time is right.

A suspect in a string of Los Angeles killings was arrested based on evidence linking his DNA to that of his son, who was convicted in an unrelated case.

I attended the Union County Republican Forum yesterday. My opponent was also at the Forum and said that he was the only candidate that was pro-life. Fortunately I was there and stood up and told the group that I was sure he must have just misspoken because I too am pro-life. Children are God’s gift.

It took four weeks and a day but Anthony Marcus was convicted of 1st Degree Murder, Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and three counts of Attempted 1st Degree Kidnapping. He will spend the rest of his life in prison. http://www.wsoctv.com/video/23200204/index.html

A jury found Anthony Marcus guilty of murder Monday in the 2004 shooting of Olivia Sigmon.

I know the campaign must be going great because someone aligned with the opposition has begun to resort to desperate measures. A rumor has been going around that I have said that I will fire everyone currently working at the District Attorney’s Office.
