Some of the best dinners happen long after the plates are cleared.

We designed this dining room to hold the evening. Deep walls, warm low light, and just enough separation from the kitchen that the conversation stays at the table. It still connects to the rest of the home, so nobody feels tucked away, but the mood here is all its own.

Good design relates one space to another. Sometimes it also knows when to let a room slow things down.

Clean lines are easy. Hiding a refrigerator is harder.

In this kitchen, the appliances wear the same custom panels as the cabinetry, so the fridge and freezer simply disappear into the wall. What’s left is calm, uninterrupted millwork that flows straight into the great room. It reads less like a workspace and more like part of the living space, which is exactly the point.

It’s one of those design details you might not think to ask for, but you notice it every single day.

A 42” front door, six inches wider than standard, and you feel the difference as soon as you step in. Look up and the ceiling beams carry the same sense of scale through the room. The entry and the room above it were designed together. This is Classica Custom.

What a day! Inspiration Day 2026 had us volunteering at Crisis Assistance Ministry in the morning, then lunch and a whole lot of laughs at the Tipsy Pickle. We wrapped it up touring the communities coming in 2027, and we’re pretty excited about what’s ahead.

How much thought have you actually put into a floor plan before?

Not the finishes, not the paint colors, the actual layout. We wrote a blog post about the five things worth thinking through before you settle on one: your daily routine, how your life might look a few years from now, how rooms flow into each other, where the light comes in, and whether there's enough real storage for actual life (mudrooms, we're looking at you).
