URGENT!!!!
PLEASE SHARE:
The NC and TN mountains are near and dear to many of us, especially here at the office. The devastation in Western NC and Eastern TN, as well as points South, is unfathomable. The pictures and videos coming through are horrific, but do not really tell the tale of the people and animals who are being directly affected.
The local, state and governmental agencies will do what they can, when they can, but there will be needs for these folks for months if not years to come.
We are hearing from reports from people on the ground in East TN and close by Western NC that towns have essentially disappeared, or at least are so inundated they are unrecognizable. People are stranded and cannot be gotten to by rescuers just yet.
We would like to help how we can….so….
We will be accepting donations of water, paper supplies, cleaning supplies, pet food, and non-perishable food items or whatever folks are inclined to provide. Please, no clothing items right now….that may come at a later time. There will be two drop off locations….
146 N Fourth Street, Albemarle, NC
and
1046 Albemarle Road, Troy, NC
Drop offs can be made from 9 am to 5 pm Monday-Thursday and 9 am to 12 pm on Fridays (Albemarle Location Only). You are welcome to leave things before or after hours, and we will store them safely, however we do not have a way to safeguard them at times the offices are not open.
We will collect what we can over the next 7 to 10 days and connect with relief organizations in the mountains to deliver the goods to those areas0. We will continue to collect these goods through the end of October and will make trips West when we collect enough to be of assistance.
We are not set up for monetary donations, but would suggest those go to the Salvation Army in WNC or East TN or to some other reputable charitable entity. Please be careful when donating funds as there are far too many scams run during these events.
If any other area businesses wish to join with us, we can warehouse a lot of goods at our Troy office. Please reach out to the office at (704) 983-6900, or send messages through this site.
Thank you all in advance, and please keep all of those affected in your thoughts.
