Edward Jones-Financial Advisor: Tricia Marteney

Edward Jones-Financial Advisor: Tricia Marteney In 2019, I was at a crossroads in my career. He said my skills and passion would translate well to developing financial strategies.

I had been with the same company for almost 25 years, but with every promotion, I kept drifting further from what I enjoyed doing most: helping my team reach their career goals. When I spoke with my Edward Jones financial advisor about this issue, he suggested that I explore joining Edward Jones. I’m so grateful for his suggestion because every day, I get to do what I love: helping people live bet

ter lives. Personal finances can be intimidating. I work to make them more understandable and accessible. Taking a holistic approach, I help clients put purpose behind their investments. Together, we organize, grow, protect and transfer their wealth. Due to my own life experiences, I bring a unique understanding when clients are faced with any of the following:

• Chronic Illness: I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. That diagnosis changed the way I live my life. It also forced me to evaluate my finances and plan for unexpected expenses that are part of an unexpected diagnosis.
• Divorce: Each stage of a divorce requires a different focus. I understand the importance of having a trusted financial advisor who helps logically guide you through an emotional time.
• Career Transition/Change: It’s not always known when a job loss might occur. I can help you build financial strategies to withstand career changes, planned or unplanned.
• Aging Parents: As my parents age, I’ve experienced how the parent/child relationship changes. I approach discussions with compassion and empathy, offering assistance without making people feel as if they are losing their independence. I welcome the opportunity to learn about you and your financial priorities. It all starts with a conversation – let’s chat.

There’s a difference between having a financial plan…

…and feeling at ease with it.

For many people, things look fine on paper.

But it still feels unclear.

The goal isn’t just to have enough.

It’s to feel clear and in control of how everything fits together.

Very few people come in asking for better investments.

What they’re really looking for is clarity.

To understand where they stand.
To feel confident in their decisions.

When that’s in place, everything else tends to fall into line.

High‑intensity sales roles often demand relentless travel, long hours, and constant availability. It’s no surprise that many top performers are seeking more flexibility—without losing meaningful work.

Advisors transitioning from sales value having control over their schedule, fewer reactive cycles, and more time to focus on client relationships—not constant hustle.

If you’re looking for a career that gives you space to breathe while still challenging you, this might be the right move.

Maintain autonomy in how you build your practice and gain a supportive partner when it matters. Support that shows up, not slows down. Interested? Let’s talk.

One of the most common dynamics I see in couples:

One person has taken the lead on finances.
The other has trusted them—and stayed less involved.

It works… until it doesn’t.

At some point, the quieter partner wants to feel more confident and informed.

A good financial plan shouldn’t live with just one person.

Both partners should feel clear and comfortable in the decisions being made

Most of my clients have done everything right financially.

They’ve saved consistently.
They’ve built meaningful assets.
They’ve made thoughtful decisions along the way.

And yet—there’s still a level of uncertainty about what comes next.

Not because anything is wrong.
But because no one has ever really helped them connect all the pieces.

I’ve always been drawn to that space—
the gap between having enough and actually feeling confident about it.

That’s the work.

Not adding complexity.
Just bringing clarity to what already exists.
